Taken in 1988, this photo shows my grandfather with my grandmother, who had just returned home from a massive stroke. Fearing she would soon be gone, he had requested I take some pictures as a remembrance. By the end of the following year, both my grandfather and my mother would be dead, and my stricken grandmother would die just after Christmas, outliving them both.
